Jovi is the founder & President of Be Prolific, Inc. He loves to use his experiences and various platforms to benefit others. Jovi is currently a student-athlete at Georgetown University. He demonstrates his dynamic skillset in the classroom of the McDonough School of Business and on the football field. Like some of his role models, Jay-Z and the late Nipsey Hussle, Jovi hopes to better the lives of young men of African descent in his community, and around the world.

In light of the aforementioned, Jovi was a member of the Coore Foundation and it's subsidiary Girls Right Of Way (GROW) Global Youth Ambassador Leadership Academy (GYALA) from 2011 to 2019. As a Global Youth Ambassador, Jovi held several leadership positions. From 2014-2016 Jovi was the Vice President of global programs overseeing all projects in the Caribbean, Africa, South, and Central America. From 2017-2019 he was given the prestigious role as the President of GYALA. This afforded Jovi many opportunities to work with local and country leaders to plan and implement global intervention programs like the HIV, STD, and Teen Pregnancy Prevention initiatives (GROW HEALTH), training, and certifying over 1,000 youth in Africa and the Caribbean. Jovi also coordinated the global shoe project (GROW SOLE) collecting and distributing ten of thousands of new and lightly used shoes for children in underserved communities around the world.

Both Jovi's international and academic experiences have shaped him into a young man who is now ready to pay it forward by guiding and uplifting his peers. In a similar vein, the "Be Prolific" team with their outstanding leadership skills will work diligently to govern and provide our members with resources to maximize their abilities in a community of agents of change that foster the utmost integrity and hold "Be Prolific" to the same standard.

DR. TARIK PHILLIP

Born on the island of St. Kitts, with dreams of pursuing his medical degree, Dr. Tarik Phillip first ventured to Midwestern State University in August 1999.  There he graduated with a degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and was involved in several organizations.  Midwestern State University afforded him the opportunity to not only mentor but also to be mentored.  In the Spring of 2003, Dr. Phillips was accepted into the historic Howard University College of Medicine.

True to its history, Dr. Phillip met amazing mentors who helped to mold him along his journey. He embarked on numerous projects geared towards empowering the community to take charge of their health and became an HIV Peer Mentor through a partnership between the Coore Foundation and the Red Cross. In his senior year of medical school, Dr. Phillip was given the opportunity of a lifetime to train with physicians at Johns Hopkins University sub-internship Hospitalist program.  This opportunity represented the fulfillment of a lifelong dream but also helped him to appreciate the life lessons he learned at Howard.

Residency took him next to Dearborn, Michigan where he was accepted into the Oakwood Internal Medicine Residency Program.  Teaching interns became his passion and in his second year of residency, he was awarded Resident of the year.  He was also named winner of the Michigan American College of Physicians Clinical Vignette 2012 for his Abstract, "What Happened to my Hands and Feet.  A case of Taxotere Induced Hand-Foot Syndrome."  After graduating from his Internal medicine program his path next took him to Virginia Beach.

Dr. Phillip joined the Bon Secours Health System in Virginia Beach where he was one of the physicians at Town Center Medical Associates.  He used this platform to not only treat his patients but to also empower them to take care of their health.  He was recognized for his work when he was awarded the Starfish Pin by senior leadership.  This is a pin awarded to individuals who went above and beyond for their patients.  Although he enjoyed his time at Virginia Beach, after two years Dr. Phillip next accepted a job with the Carolinas Healthcare System.   Seeking a different way to practice, Dr. Phillip now works as a Locums provider where his journey has taken him as far as New Mexico where he worked on an Indian reservation in Crownpoint.
